Today will be held the second meeting of the congress about Henry Sidgwick
Today will be held at 9:30 am, in the room A9 of the Monastery of the Benedictines, the second meeting of the second International Congress "Henry Sidgwick Ethics, Psychic, politics" the objective of which is to deepen the researches made by the British thinker in the field of the personality, in relation to the rising science of the psyche, by making reference, this time, to the relations with the French culture. The prestigious host of the congress will be indeed, the French woman, Hortense Geninet, moral Philosophy University of Reims, author of the volume "Henry Sidgwick : Politics" and founder of the reference website and the Blog dedicated both to Henry Sidgwick (www.henrysidgwick.com and sidgwick.org), who will belong to Catane to speak about relationss between Henry Sidgwick and Charles Richet and about their respective schools, as well as about connections between Society for Psychical Research and the Société de Psychologie Physiologique. The congress is organized by the Prof. Placido Bucolo, Professor of History of moral Philosophy, University of Letters and Philosophy, University of Catania, in association with the University of Science of Education, the Departments of Human sciences, Processes of Formation and Sciences of Culture, the Man and the Territory, in association with research doctorates in Philosophy and Histor of Ideas, Human sciences and History of Civilization of Society and Territory. The current interventions will be opened by the vice-chancellor Antonino Recca, President of the Universities of Science of Formation, Febronia Élie, the Department of Litterature, Enrico Iachello, and the directors of Departments : Maria Barbanti (Cut), Francesco Coniglione (Dpf), and Blaise Saitta (Dsu), the Prof. Bucolo will also intervene, his performance is entitled : "Henry Sidgwick: the economic lessons of the Socialism". Prof.. Gaetano Vittone, Associate Professor of moral Philosophy at the University of Litterature etnea will chair the works of the day.
